Infrastructure

The e2e.net infrastructure was designed to provide high availability to an externally hosted and managed service that has limited impact on an institutes internal technical infrastructure, without compromise.

The e2e.net infrastructure has been audited against strict government requirements for availability, redundancy, security (physical and data security), Backups and Risk Strategy.

A high level overview of the e2e.net environment is included below.

Some critical features of the e2e.net infrastructure include:

  • 24x7x365 Technical Support via a dedicated Technical Account Manager (TAM)
  • 24x7x365 Solution Monitoring
  • 24x7x365 Infrastructure Services Monitoring
  • Separate dedicated servers for data and presentation tiers
  • Superior network connectivity through large scale links to multiple internet connectivity providers
  • Redundant Virtual Cisco PIX Firewall to provide a redundant customisable stateful firewall capability
  • Dual 1Gbps Multi-Homed Connections - to provide fail-over capability in the event of a network interface failure
  • Backup and recovery – data is backed up daily to an enterprise grade backup systems predicated on a Disk-to-Disk-to-Tape methodology.
  • VESDA – Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus combined with a FM-200 Fire Suppression system
  • Diesel UPS in the event of failure through short power outages, brownouts and power spikes
  • The Data centre is monitored 24x7 and has a CCTV (closed circuit television) system to monitor and digitally record any movement.
  • Data centre access is restricted via a dual authentication systems.

As a sign of our commitment to continue and investment in the e2e.net infrastructure, our service levels guarantee 99.9% network uptime and 99.5% server uptime.
